Introduction (5 mins): Narrate the ‘King Jagdeep’ story (Page 87) – “The king wanted to get a carved bed made for his queen.” Ask – “How long should the bed be?”
Main Activity (20 mins):Comparing Length (Page 88) – Give children different objects (pencil, eraser, book, scale) and ask them to arrange from longest to shortest. Path from “A” to “B” (Page 89) – Choose the longest/shortest path.

Teacher Diary Note: Let children hold objects in both hands (one at a time) to feel heavy/light – this gives practical experience.

(Special Tips for Teacher Diary)
English
2. Inclusive Education: If a child struggles with measurement, let them measure with larger/clearer objects and work with a buddy.
3. Connect with EVS/Science: Discuss water usage and conservation (Page 98 – ‘Use and importance of water in our lives’).
4. Practical Activities: Making lemonade, Jal Tarang, and balance scale – these practical activities help children understand measurement concretely.
