English Core का उद्देश्य विद्यार्थियों में उच्च स्तर की reading, writing, listening, speaking, reasoning, interpretation और analytical skills विकसित करना है।
Class 11 English Core Marks Distribution 2026-27
CBSE के अनुसार 80 अंकों की लिखित परीक्षा को तीन प्रमुख sections में विभाजित किया गया है।

Section A – Reading Skills
Reading Skills के लिए 26 अंक निर्धारित हैं। इसमें unseen passages के साथ note-making और summarization शामिल हैं।
1. Reading Comprehension through Unseen Passages – 18 Marks
विद्यार्थियों को दो प्रकार के unseen passages दिए जाएंगे:
Unseen Passage
यह passage हो सकता है:
- Factual
- Descriptive
- Literary
इससे विद्यार्थियों की निम्न क्षमताओं का परीक्षण होगा:
- Comprehension
- Interpretation
- Analysis
- Inference
- Vocabulary
Case-Based Factual Passage
इसमें verbal या visual information हो सकती है, जैसे:
- Statistical data
- Charts
- अन्य visual inputs
दोनों passages की combined word limit 600–750 words होगी। प्रश्न objective/multiple-choice प्रकार के हो सकते हैं।
2. Note Making and Summarization – 8 Marks
लगभग 200–250 words के passage पर आधारित note-making और summary लिखनी होगी।

Grammar – 7 Marks
Grammar में मुख्य रूप से निम्न topics शामिल हैं:
1. Tenses
वाक्यों में Tenses के सही प्रयोग पर आधारित प्रश्न।
2. Clauses
विभिन्न प्रकार के clauses का प्रयोग।
3. Re-ordering of Sentences
दिए गए शब्दों/वाक्यों को सही क्रम में व्यवस्थित करना।
4. Transformation of Sentences
वाक्यों का transformation करना।
कुल दिए गए प्रश्नों में से निर्धारित संख्या में प्रश्न हल करने होंगे।
Creative Writing Skills – 16 Marks
Creative Writing के लिए 16 अंक निर्धारित हैं। इसमें short और long writing tasks शामिल हैं।
1. Classified Advertisement
लगभग 50 words तक का classified advertisement लिखना होगा।

मुख्य मूल्यांकन:

- Content
- Expression
2. Poster
लगभग 50 words तक का poster तैयार करना होगा।
Poster में विषय के अनुरूप:
- Heading
- Message
- आकर्षक presentation
- आवश्यक details

3. Speech Writing
Speech लगभग 120–150 words में लिखी जाएगी।
विषय contemporary या age-appropriate हो सकता है और verbal/visual cues दिए जा सकते हैं।
4. Debate Writing
Debate भी लगभग 120–150 words में लिखी जाएगी।
विषय contemporary/topical issues पर आधारित हो सकता है।
Section C – Literature
Literature section के लिए 31 अंक निर्धारित हैं। यह भाग Hornbill और Snapshots पर आधारित है।
Literature section में विद्यार्थियों की:

Listening assessment में विद्यार्थियों की सुनने और समझने की क्षमता का मूल्यांकन किया जाएगा।
