Conditionals (शर्तवाचक वाक्य)

Conditionals वे वाक्य होते हैं जिनमें If (यदि) के माध्यम से किसी शर्त और उसके परिणाम को बताया जाता है।

1. Zero Conditional (शून्य शर्तवाचक)

Use: सार्वभौमिक सत्य, वैज्ञानिक तथ्य, आदतें

Structure: If + Present Simple, Present Simple

Examples:

• If you heat ice, it melts.
  यदि आप बर्फ गरम करते हैं, तो वह पिघल जाती है।
• If it rains, the ground gets wet.
  यदि बारिश होती है, तो ज़मीन गीली हो जाती है।

2. First Conditional (प्रथम शर्तवाचक)

Use: भविष्य की वास्तविक/संभावित स्थिति

Structure: If + Present Simple, will/shall + V¹

Examples:

• If you work hard, you will succeed.
  यदि तुम मेहनत करोगे, तो सफल हो जाओगे।
• If she comes late, we will start without her.
  यदि वह देर से आई, तो हम उसके बिना शुरू करेंगे।

3. Second Conditional (द्वितीय शर्तवाचक)

Use: काल्पनिक/असंभव या वर्तमान की विपरीत स्थिति

Structure: If + Past Simple, would/could/might + V¹

Examples:

• If I were rich, I would help the poor.
  यदि मैं अमीर होता, तो गरीबों की मदद करता।
• If he had a car, he would travel more.
  यदि उसके पास कार होती, तो वह अधिक घूमता।

Note: सभी persons के साथ were का प्रयोग बेहतर माना जाता है।

4. Third Conditional (तृतीय शर्तवाचक)

Use: भूतकाल की असंभव/पछतावे वाली स्थिति

Structure: If + Past Perfect, would/could/might + have + V³

Examples:

• If you had studied, you would have passed.
  यदि तुमने पढ़ाई की होती, तो तुम पास हो गए होते।
• If she had left earlier, she would have caught the train.
  यदि वह पहले निकली होती, तो ट्रेन पकड़ लेती।
